Sandusky County youth ages 18 to 21 who have been difficulties in entering or maintaining jobs in the present employment market could be eligible for services through the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 program called Success for Youth.
This program does not require any registration and interested members of the youth community can attend one of the informational sessions at the Job Store, which began this week and will end on July 22.
From Thenews-messenger.com:
The Success for Youth program assists young adults with job-searching skills, career exploration/development, occupational skills training, supportive services and several other elements designed to move youth toward self-sufficiency and employment success. To qualify for the program, youth must meet WIA eligibility criteria including age and income requirements.
The Workforce Investment Act was enacted into law in August 1998 to replace the workforce development program of the time with a system that brought businesses on board as a partner in the delivery of local services. WIA funds several programs locally including the Job Store and services for adults and dislocated workers and youth services. All of these programs can be accessed by visiting the Job Store at 2511 Countryside Drive in Fremont.
The Success for Youth program is operated by EHOVE Adult Career Center.
