The first and foremost thing before going out to attend a job interview is to remember the fact that it is not going to be a criminal trial and end of the world. This is because sole purpose of the interview will be to find out if you suit the job requirements and have confidence to execute the job well.
The interviewer will not be seated to highlight your flaws. The interview meeting will be all about you finding whether or not the company you are interviewing for is right for you and the interviewer will be finding out if you are good for the company. That’s it!
In this regard, some tips can help to a considerable extent. Before you attend the interview, do some research about the company. This may include visiting the company’s website, its past and present projects, clients, and if possible about the person you will meet with at the interview.
Dress like a professional even though you may not be professional yet. Prepare in advance for answers that may be asked from you. Some of them may include:
- Please tell me about yourself
- Why you left your last job (if your were previously employed)
- Why do you want to join this company
- Where do you see yourself five years down the line
- What are your compensation expectations
Make sure that have answers to all these questions before going to attend the job interview.
