Quotations to help you attain success

Quotations to help you attain successWhen it comes to staying close to success and perfectionism, things often get out of control but things could be managed easily when you stay inspired and believe in your abilities. This blog, a compilation of motivational quotes, will help you do in quick time.

Dreams surely are difficult, confusing, and not everything in them is brought to pass for mankind. For fleeting dreams have two gates: one is fashioned of horn and one of ivory. Those which pass through the one of sawn ivory are deceptive, bringing tidings which come to nought, but those which issue from the one of polished horn bring true results when a mortal sees them. – Homer

Now, I say to you today my friends, even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: – ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.’ – Martin Luther King Jr.

Eccentricity is not, as dull people would have us believe, a form of madness. It is often a kind of innocent pride, and the man of genius and the aristocrat are frequently regarded as eccentrics because genius and aristocrat are entirely unafraid of and uninfluenced by the opinions and vagaries of the crowd. – Edith Sitwell

I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances. – Martha Washington

Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop the picture…Do not build up obstacles in your imagination. – Norman Vincent Peale

Monogamy a complicated affair for young couples

Monogamy a complicated affair for young couples

A recently concluded study has suggested that the concept of monogamy in young married couples is a complicated issue for many.

Live Science quoted Jocelyn Warren of Oregon State University as saying, “Couples have a hard time talking about these sorts of issues, and I would imagine for young people it’s even more difficult.”

From in.news.yahoo.com:

Monogamy comes up quite a bit as a way to protect against sexually transmitted diseases. But you can see that agreement on whether one is monogamous or not is fraught with issues.”

The study of 434 married and unmarried couples ages 18-25 revealed that about 40 percent of young couples had differing opinions about how exclusive their relationship was, and even among those who were on the same page, about 30 percent reported having cheated.

The only indicator of exclusivity was the emotional commitment the partners reported investing in the relationship, assessed using a scale from 1-5 with 5 being the highest.

Researcher Marie Harvey said that young couples in a monogamous relationship such as a marriage should be encouraged to have protected sex.

The study will be published in an issue of the Journal of Sex Research.

India net is a job creator for US companies

India net is a job creator for US companiesNASSCOM chief Som Mittal recently said India is a net job creator for US companies, not the other way around. Mittal said this to strongly refute the public perception here that outsourcing and free trade agreements are responsible for current economic woes of America.

Mittal wrote in an opinion piece in the Seattle Times, “India is a net job creator for US companies, not the other way around. The Indo-US economic relationship benefits the American economy and its job market in many important and tangible ways.”

From in.finance.yahoo.com:

The US has emerged as a preferred destination for Indian investment. In fact, India now ranks second, behind the UAE, in the list of fastest-growing foreign investors in the US, he argued in his article.

Observing that India has never sought publicity for its commercial connections to the US, Mittal said India it has quietly become both a major investor in America and a significant destination for American goods and services.

“It has a rapidly growing population of consumers hungry for products of many kinds. And unlike other large economies that have been suffering through recessions in recent years, India has increased its total outward foreign direct investment and devoted an increasing share of that largesse to the American market in need of financial support,” he said.

Referring to a recent study by Ernst & Young, which was commissioned by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Mittal said it found that Indian companies have increased their investment in the US by more than $20 billion over the past five years.

As per the study, those investments have supported the creation of more than 65,000 American jobs.

Things Women should know about brains of menExperts have revealed ten things you should know about a man’s brain that will possibly help women understand the brains of men.

There are some things every woman need to know about a man and these things will help women know about guys’ minds.

From in.news.yahoo.com:

5. Embraces chain of command

An unstable hierarchy can cause men considerable anxiety, said Brizendine. But an established chain of command, such as that practiced by the military and many work places, reduces testosterone and curbs male aggression, she said.

4. Matures over time, really

Pre-occupation with establishing pecking order, which starts as early as age 6, motivates the “male dance, where they are always putting each other down,” added Brizendine.

“It is better to be aggressive in a verbal jab than to duke it out,” she said.

Psychological studies have shown that one-upmanship holds less appeal for older men. Instead, they pay more attention to relationships and bettering the community, said Brizendine.

The change is likely aided by the slow natural decline in testosterone as a man ages.

3. Primed for fatherhood

The male brain becomes especially primed for cooperation in the months before becoming a father. Fathers-to-be go through hormone changes-prolactin goes up, testosterone goes down-which likely encourage paternal behavior, found a 2000 study in Evolution and Human Behavior.

2. Daddy-play

Daddy-specific ways of playing with their kids-more rough-housing, more spontaneity, more teasing-can help kids learn better, be more confidant, and prepare them for the real world, studies have shown. Also, involved dads lessen risky kids’ sexual behaviour.

1. Covets wedding bells, too

Women want to settle down, and men want to sow their wild oats forever, the refrain usually goes. But this might be one of the largest misconceptions stemming from the U.S. tendency of using undergrads as test subjects.

A study of Bolivian men published in the Proceedings of the Royal Society in 2007 found that infidelities are most likely to occur before men hit 30.

Zero calorie candy – Coming Soon

Posted by admin On January - 4 - 2011

Zero calorie candy - Coming SoonA zero-calorie, sweet candy that has the capability of increasing energy levels, boosting health, and slowing down the aging process besides improving skin complexion is about to hit the market next year.

‘Beauty candy’ apparently contains zero fat, preservatives, sugar and sodium, and has few calories. The candy is packed with collagen and vitamins to care ‘for the beauty from inside to outside’.

From in.news.yahoo.com:

“As a parent, I don’t want my daughters eating this with the idea it will make them somehow more beautiful. Sweets and chocolates are meant to be enjoyed as indulgent treats, not as potential health or beauty aids,” the Daily Mail quoted Angus Kennedy, chief chocolate taster for a number of confectioners and a father of four.

“It’s morally wrong to promote such a concept to people. Beauty candy seems just like another cynical attempt to sell product by tapping into people’s insecurities with their looks.’

Beauty Candy is part of the ‘Beauty’ in’ brand, launched this summer by Brazilian entrepreneur and socialite Cristiana Arcangeli.

The 51-year-old said that the new line will “bring beauty to a new dimension” by being the first in a new category of food dubbed ‘alimetics’ that specifically contain cosmetic properties.

The Beauty candy is already on sale in Brazil and is all set to enter the UK market.

US job seekers heading to Australia

US job seekers heading to AustraliaMore and more US citizens faced with job crunch at home are heading to Australia where nearly 7,000 Americans are currently working on long-term visas, an 80 percent jump over the past five years.

The Wall Street Journal, quoting Australian government data, said US citizens are now the third-largest group applying for work visas, after British and Indian nationals.

From in.news.yahoo.com:

Near-10 percent unemployment at home drives more Americans to look for jobs Down Under, where China’s thirst for iron ore and energy is transforming the Pacific nation into an economic powerhouse, the report said.

Daniel Davila, a 23-year-old timber floorer from California who has been working at a grocery store, said that on a good day, he makes as much as 50 Australian dollars (US$50.21) an hour – about twice the usual rate for the job in the US.

‘I can make what I did in a week in the US in less than a day here,’ Davila, who lives near the mining boom town of Perth, was quoted as saying.

Americans with degrees in areas such as accounting or mine engineering as well as other skilled workers can obtain a non-renewable permit for as much as a three-year stay. After that, they can apply for the renewable 457 work visa, which grants up to a four-year stay.

The number of US students in Australian universities has also jumped nearly 10 percent in the past two years, after declining steadily for the previous decade, according to the Australian Department of Immigration.

According to the latest data released by the US Census Bureau, more than 1.1 million foreigners migrated to the US in 2010, while about 377,000 foreigners moved to Australia this year and 471,000 last year.YW9ADCGT9DKT
